Let’s study non-titans

Everyone knows the big names in business – those who revolutionized something big and made billions. We read their biographies and learn about their spectacular lives. But what’s the threshold to be famous and get your story known? Do people read only from awe, or do they also want to learn from the lives of others who tried to do something in our world? Is there a usable secret sauce in a one-in-a-million amazing success that everybody already read about? Aren’t there more practical lessons in the successes and failures of the countless others who pursued their visions, some audaciously, some carefully, with their endless variety of constraints and opportunities? If only one could get to know them… and that’s what Quenching Visions is for.

My name is Andrey and I like creating and building

I’ve always been interested in bringing ideas to reality. I also always liked to work – to bring value, to be productive. My first full time job started when I was 17, I made property survey drawings. I co-founded and started running my first real company at 23, I was not ready. Through grit, some luck, and help of some wonderful people, we got to a million dollars in sales in 3 years. I then got an MBA and co-founded another company at 28. Both companies run today.

Continuing education

I find that anybody’s life and story has fascinating aspects in it, knowledge that can be passed on. If somebody built a company that brings $1 million in profit for them – how did he do it? What did it take? Somebody joined a family business and oversaw revenues triple – she must have exciting stories and insights. Another inherited a company making millions and went bust in 3 years – may be even more to learn from that story. The same can apply to leaders organizing around civic and other causes. I want to explore the stories of those who took a chance on building or creating something - learn from them and make them heard. So, this podcast is about the “other” entrepreneurs, the 99%. I hope you enjoy their stories.
